Life in Stamford… Stuff… Art… Musings… More Stuff

another year older…

another year older... happy birthday to me

another year older… a lot wiser too, but that has nothing to do with birthdays or age! It is life experiences that give us the wisdom (and the stupidity too) to take the decisions that we do.

Anyway… let’s hold that thought for another day.

It was my birthday last Friday.

I think birthdays are important, it is one day that is ours. I do my best to wish people on their birthday if I can, because I think everyone deserves to feel loved on their special day.

Having said that I am still not sure if I was looking forward to mine this year or not. Last year I was in no mood for celebrations but usually I do like it if something nice happens on my birthday. (Still a child at heart… don’t think I will ever be ready to grow up!)

When I woke up there were some messages on WhatsApp, Messenger etc., which was nice :-). It was a working day so I went to my exhibition as planned. I got a lovely surprise when I had a visit from Herbert dog and his humans. We know each other from dog walks. Some of my friends dropped into the Arts Centre for a meeting and came into the gallery to wish me. We had coffee together. It was nice.

Got a few lovely cards and posh chocolates.

Then I came home, felt a bit sorry for myself as I was going to spend the afternoon and evening on my own, but then I decided to have a party for two – Manali and me. I ordered a massive takeaway of some of my favourite dishes from Vansa Ghar, a Nepalese restaurant in Stamford, finished off the bottle of Black Label, played loud music and danced around my room ( to Manali’s total disgust).

Maybe next year things will be different… We’ll see…
